Hi
Is there anyone out there who is an expert on a Stelling 5 string banjo?
I have inherited one and think it needs a home but I have a few questions first and for that, guitarist that I am, I need to speak to a Stelling player/enthusiast/ expert
Anyone?

Hi sunshine, I'm not an expert by any means when it comes to Stelling banjos, but I do know they are very highly regarded among bluegrass players, and generally worth a good amount of money. What model of Stelling banjo do you have? |

The Stelling banjo is in storage. It has not been played since the untimely passing away of its owner, many years ago. It is an absolute beauty and my late brother in law and I toured Europe with it. It needs TLC but ought to be fully intact. I plan to release it from storage in December. I will send some pics around.
I wonder if there is a Bluegrass forum like this one. I just know this is an instrument which someone out there is seeking. Maybe there is even a banjo special forum. Anyone any idea?

Best Sunshine Hello, I am new to this forum and do not consider myself an expert on Stelling banjos but I have owned a Stelling Bellflower since 1978. Whatever model you have is a very high quality banjo and well regarded in Bluegrass circles. The older ones tend to be rather heavy but they are also very loud. They are also in the high-price range. I think the lowest model available costs about $4000 US. I would like to see some pictures of yours. Regards djeffcoat |
