I got back from the Holy Grail Guitar Show in Berlin last week and it was a wonderful event with a real community feel to it.
I took three guitars with me. One was the small bodied yew Pergola model that some of you will have seen and played in Halifax in September and which I posted photos of on here. The other two were Pavilion sweep models.
The first of the Pavilions is the regular Pavilion Sweep with a Manzer wedge and back, sides and fingerboard in 3500-year-old bog oak. The top is European spruce with a walnut bridge to keep the weight down. The neck is reclaimed Honduras mahogany.

The second Pavilion differs from the bog oak one in that it has the same body shape and scale length but the neck is positioned two frets further into the body which places the bridge at the widest part of the lower bout. Effectively it is a 12-fret guitar with a cutaway, which still gives 16 frets clear of the body on the treble side. It also features a Manzer wedge. The back and sides are flamed American cherry, the soundboard European spruce and the neck reclaimed Honduras mahogany. The fingerboard and bridge are laburnum.
These guitar were demoed for me in Berlin by the wonderful Daniele Bazzani. There should be some video footage forthcoming. I'll post a link when it's up.
