Just collected my new 12 string from Dave White in deepest High Wycombe. for those who have not been following the build on Daves site here is a picture. defaoiteguitars.com/index.htmIts a 630mm 18 fret scale cutaway with a floating bridge 13 frets clear of the body with a 49mm nut width From my point of view with a very low set up it plays beautifully almost like a six string We had a great day yesterday looking round Daves workshed and Debbies arty textile designs played some of his other machines and all in all had a really nice day despite the near 300 mile round trip took it home and played it a bit. It will take a bit of getting used to but what a beautifully made guitar absolutely superb. Will post some songs on the PD but in the meantime will search our 12 string thread for suitable songs Thank you Dave

Excellent news, 007! I'm sure you'll find, as I have, that these are wonderfully easy to play and make a BIG sound!

The build page on my website has been taken down now that Paul's guitar is finished but here are some pictures of his "An Tairneanach Mór": I also recorded some "strummage" for Paul when I had the guitar strung up for the first time: "Paul's ATM Birthing"

Beautiful.
Dave, I feel justified in my constant nagging for you to build a 12 string.
I had a look at your website, the 'Father Jack' instrument is the best named musical instrument I have come across. I doth my virtual cap to you. Is there any progress on the flamenco guitar which you in the works?

Is there any progress on the flamenco guitar which you in the works? Shubs, When it came to a name for the banjo Joe wondered about continuing my banjo theme of naming it after grumpy TV sitcom characters or my more usual Celtic theme for instruments so I thought "Father Jack" was the perfect blend The flamenco is scheduled next after the various banjo tasks are sorted - watch this space.

My favourite FT character is the Bishop. I'm trying to think what kind of instrument would be fitting to be called 'Len Brennan' or 'Len'?
