I have about 50 quid to spend on a classical and I'll probably get second hand as I believe you can get a better quality for the money. I'd love a Yamaha C series as I understand they are quality and I found one a while ago but it's long gone now. I do come across a lot of José Ferrer guitars tho, and online they are toted as best choice for schools etc, but are they any good? There's one in cash converters for under 40 quid but I'm unsure and can find no info on them! Any help on this brand, or other decent classicals on a budget gratefully received!

Hi Larry, my daughter had a Jose Ferrer Primo classical for her lessons when she was younger.
New I think it cost £50 or thereabouts. Not sure what the spec of the guitar you're considering is, but for these very basic, entry-level instruments, I'd be looking to pay 50% of the new price, or offering around that to sellers.
We sold her old guitar for £25, and it included a better quality gig bag than it originally came with.
As to quality - they play fine, but there is a lot better out there for similar money.
For example, the Yamaha C40 entry-level classical. I had one of these, and sold it for £50 in excellent condition.
You should be able to get one for around your budget and they're a lot better than the Jose Ferrer in my experience.
