I've pretty much given up on my mandolin and want to wall hang it above the piano. Poor intonation, floating bridge, snapping high street, it was a cheapo mando and i just cannae be chewed! However it's a new build house with walls like paper so what's the best way to do it? It's a very light instrument, could I get away with command strips? I would like to hang it diagonally rather than in the usual position. / rather than |

Not sure I can help you there although hanging instruments is very effective as they are always at hand. Mind you, even with decent walls you have to be careful. I recently took down my Adrian Lucas to find the top of the two screws had worked its way loose; am not going have to find a new piece of wall. Have gone back to using my Hercules triple stand.

A mandolin is very light-weight....I'm thinking it may be possible to construct something using picture hooks and wire/string, which would be far less intrusive than a traditional wall hanger.

...actually a small picture hook and a piece of wire will do the job neatly, quickly and cheaply as Martin says. if you hang the mando vertically you'll only need one hook. Keith

Possibly, not sure. Barely any substance there. We have to use command strips to hang pictures.
