You get the best value by buying the one that sounds best to you

I can fully understand why you think this is the default answer, Kevmc1180, but only in the same way as 2 is the default answer to the question "What does 1 plus 1 equal?". Not all guitars of the same make and model are the same. There are good reasons for this and it holds true at all price points. For reasons of quality control, it's less true of higher priced guitars, but even then, Gibson, for example, have a bad reputation for consistency. I have played the odd Martin that's rubbish, and several Taylor's that should have been culled as well. So it is possible to find good guitars of all sizes and body shapes at lower prices, but to find them (and avoid the dogs) you have to play them. However, both Faith and Breedlove make some lovely guitars, so if that's your preference, try them out. But if you buy by mail order, make absolutely certain you buy from somewhere that has a good return policy, because you don't want to be saddled with a guitar that will limit your playing, and I promise you that a guitar that has playability issues, or doesn't sound good will limit your development. Having said all that, if you can, try others in a similar price range. Guitars by Tanglewood, Court and Sigma can be good, as can some Crafters and those branded Vintage. In fact, some of these different makes are produced in the same factories in the Far East. I hope this is helpful.

That is good advice. Also if you buy by mail order it's a good idea to buy from somewhere that checks and adjusts the guitar setup rather than buying from just a box shifter. The last 3 acoustic guitars I tried from mail order resulted in two making a rapid about face from my life. Not a good success rate. Much higher success rate with those tried first. FWIW I did have a Breedlove Pursuit Concert for a while - but it was too big for me and the way it sounded higher notes didn't really suit the sort of music I like to play. The sound was a bit light on the higher strings, but it was a solid build and had a good basic sound. As has been pointed out though that was just one example of a Breedlove Pursuit Concert - you can guarantee there would be some less good sounding ones out there too, and possibly some great ones too. A variable raw material like wood built to standard measured specifications will have a mixture of good bad and OK with the majority as OK. .

Am i getting better value for money with faith as its all solid? What is your budget? Have you considered second hand? For example, you could pick up a Martin OM21 for around £1200 or 1600 Euros.
