Well i took some peoples advice and popped into Corks only guitar shop yesterday.
I knew they didnt stock the two guitars i was interested in but anyway i also knew they stocked the Martin Dreadnought junior.
They recently had a batch in and this was the last one left....!
Also they had the Guild M140 but i didnt even get to try this one out because as soon as i started playing the Junior i was sold...
It doesnt look great isnt fancy looking and isnt laquered ect.... However the playability and tone was amazing..
I could feel it vibrate right through my body, which has never happened with any other guitar i have tried. Admittingly im usually shoping in the low end stuff...
Solid spruce top with solid Sapele back and sides, with a hard wood neck, Richlite finger board and bridge. Natural finish.
I have researched these before and i wasnt sure what the size would be some thought it wasnt much smaller than a full sized dread and
some said they were tiny.. For me it was perfect size. Not too small like the little martin or not huge like a dread but bang in the middle
Exactly as i had hoped with 14 frets on a 24inch scale which is what i have come acustomed too.
Whether its the boxy dread shape the sapele back and sides or the legendary " Martin tone " i fell in love with it.
Compared to my Faith Mercury high gloss with rosewood B/S it just blew it away.
As i strum more than pick, for me this guitar suited better than the faith, the rosewood B/S seem very bassy compared to the Junior with
Sapele B/S.
I have tried a little Martin before the Ed sheeran one and was impressed but boxy and i tried the X series 000 which has HPL B/S which i
wasnt fussed on , however this one was so much better..
I had to make a comprimise with the Wife though, to balance the books i have to sell the Faith. No biggy im a one guitar man anyway.
The case is shite compared to faith but im a sofa player only so im not worried about that yet...
I had to take it home there and then considering it was the last that they had in stock...
I thrilled, happy days, finally got my self an all solid "MARTIN" for a very reasonable price...
Anyone interested in buying the Faith which is in perfect condition with no marks at all.
