I don't know anything about banjos but i came across this one that is coming up for auction in Glasgow in a general sale this weekend. www.greatwesternauctions.com/catalogues/gs230116/quicksearch_catmaker2012_gwa.phpIt is the lower of the two on the page and described, wrongly, as a 4 stringer. If it only makes the guide price of £40 - £60 then it does look like a bargain. If the link works then you should be able to click on the image and enlarge it. it looks quite tidy and John Grey banjos appear to be not bad examples of the beast but I really wouldn't know. Just in case banjo boys might be interested. |

Thanks doc , very interesting! I found it after searching the current catalogue link as you suggested. It does appear to be a basic model, but in decent condition. I'd say it is probably worth around £140-180, although I could easily be wrong  With fitted case, it definitely could be a great deal for a buyer getting it at £50 or so   |

Well done with the link, Martin. You can do all of mine in the future. You've got me interested with that valuation. I don't play banjo but I might sneak along on Saturday. As long as the memsahib doesn't find out.

It was sold for £80 which after auction costs are added will make it nearly £100.
