On my 1986 Vicente Sanchis classical guitar, the top e string has cut into the tie-block very slightly. It happened very suddenly. It went 'ping' and the string came to rest on the next layer of grain.
Could anyone advise me whether a cheap and easy repair is possible, just to prevent further damage? I'm thinking along the lines of paper and superglue. I don't think it would worth taking to a luthier - the repair would cost more than the guitar is worth.

Here it is. There are marks where all the strings go, but only the top e string has actually gone through the first layer of wood. Sorry it's not very good. I took a few pictures and couldn't get it clear, even with macro mode. I've always liked the rosette on this guitar.

Ideally it needs a bone strip along the front and back edges of the tie block. But from the photo I would say its not really going to be a problem. The broader the face becomes where the string has begun to cut in the better the load bearing will be. I'd live with it. It looks a cosmetic issue rather than a structural requirement.

That's a big relief, Francis, thanks. It probably won't get used very much in the future, but I'm quite fond of it and would like to preserve it in its present condition.
