I've recently acquired a dulcimer that my father knocked together for a bit of fun, getting on for 50 years ago. Although he didn't finish it off it and it's been somewhat abused, it plays nicely. It needs new tuners as one was so badly bent it was unusable. I've trawled through several suppliers' websites but I can't find anything suitable. Here are some photos (check out the grandad slippers ). The headstock width is 20mms. Any suggestions? Thanks. Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Unsurprisingly I had no response from JH Skewes.

Thanks Phil The problem is the 20mm thick headstock - I don't know of any tuners with posts long enough. Rubner could probably make you a similar set if you send the old tuners to them - they did that for Leo's father-in-law's old guitar.

I can't help per se. I can only confirm what davewhite said. Dave sent one of the ancient tuners on the attic guitar to Rubner and they made a matching set. It wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be - about £80 if I remember correctly - which means I now have 'original style' tuners that work properly
