As you may have noticed, our forum has just become the recipient of some new functionality, namely an additional notification email for new threads and new posts. This has just been rolled out to our forum, and while there are positives to this, we appreciate the regular automatic email notifications of new threads could become tiresome. If you'd rather not receive these notifications (or any others) by email, you can adjust your settings in your profile. Follow these steps: Click on 'Profile' on the top navigation bar.
On the right hand side of your profile page, click on 'Edit Profile'.
Select the 'Notifications' tab.
On this Forum Notifications page you will see options for notification settings (either forum only or email). The top two (New Thread and New Post) are email notifications only (no forum notification bubble), so if you do not wish to receive these emails, select 'NEVER' in the drop down menu box.
You can also adjust your other notification settings here if you wish.
Your preferences should be saved automatically. We hope this helps and assures members that they will not receive any unwanted email from the forum. If you have any questions about the above, or are experiencing any further problems in this respect, please either PM a staff member or create a thread in the Forum Suggestions, Problems and Feedback section. Thank you

Just in case you've set your preferences as above (or via the email 'unsubscribe' link), but you've still received a recent email notification you didn't want...
I believe the way it works is that any new threads created before you turn off the notification are already queued to be sent out in an email, but any threads created after you've turned off the notification are ignored.
