I was using a Behringer XM8500 with my Roland AC-33 last Saturday. The amp was up on a wall next to me so I was able to hear myself quite a bit better than usual. I am so impressed with the XM8500 - there is not a huge amount of difference in the sound between it and my Shure SM58. It is well built, too. I tend to only use it when busking but think I'll use it any time I'm playing outdoors or at a dodgy pub. Anyone looking for an inexpensive mic - give this one a try!  |

I've got a couple of Behringer pedals. They are very good for the money.

Crikey, those Behringer mics are really cheap!!! Might get one to try it out.

Crikey, those Behringer mics are really cheap!!! Might get one to try it out. There are a few people who have reported problems in the Amazon reviews, but the overwhelming majority are thrilled with the quality and price. I am going to get another one eventually to use as a backup - for £15 it's hard to go wrong. Who knows, I may end up selling the Shure. |

I've got a SM58 too, but it would be good to have a back up for it (especially at that price!)

Not tried the XM8500 but at that price you can't go wrong. Perfect for busking and as a spare mic.
2 years ago LIDL supermarket were selling a very similar looking Axman 91119 dynamic microphone for £15. I bought one and did an A/B comparison with a Shure SM58 and there was very little difference.

I did another gig today with the el cheapo Behringer mic and received several compliments on how good the sound was. I've been using it exclusively now for a few weeks and am even happier with it than I was before. I am selling my Shure and getting another one of these as a backup.  |

Thanks for the heads up... Might give them a try. I didn't get on too well with the condenser version (C1) as there was a lot of white sound.
High praise with the comparison to the shure...sold my sm57 years ago...
