I bought a set of Gotoh 510 Tuners about 7-8 years ago for my old Larrivee. I took them off when I sold the Larrivee and put them in my drawer. I put them on the Gibson tonight - it had Grover Minis on it which are very sturdy and stable. The original Gotoh buttons are a bit modern looking for me, so I replaced them with ebony ones back when they were still on the Larrivee. The body is a bit modern too, but I rarely look at them from the back. When I was tuning up, I remembered why I loved them - it's hard to believe how smooth they are. Seriously nice. I bought them in a closing down sale for around £35. It looks like they now go for around £90. I'd say they rival the Waverlys on my Martin for smoothness and fine tuning. The Waverlys are nearly twice the price. I recommend checking them out if you are in the market for some extremely nice tuners and don't mind the more modern look. This isn't my photo but looks very similar to mine with the ebony buttons:

I like Gotoh because of that smooth action. I Waverleys on my OM and they are pigs !!!

510's for £35! Incredible buy Lynn.
I agree Andy, Wavelerys aren't the nicest tuners. I'm not the biggest fan of them; I find they stick and are really stiff.
I have a set of Gotoh 510P's on my flamenco, best tuners I've ever used.

I think they're great. I even like the look of the 510s! I like different buttons (actually, knobs) though. I prefer this shape...

I have a set of Gotoh 510P's on my flamenco, best tuners I've ever used. I have Gotohs on two of my guitars. My Waverleys are very stiff. have poor gearing. The 3rd string is murder to tighten which is a pain for me as I often switch tunings here. I wonder if lubrication might make a difference? I guess they are there as this is a Pre War OM design and they are probably authentic? But dreadful!
