So, he said, annoyingly beginning a sentence with "So...", no more entries, the uke draw is now closed. Over to you, Martin .... Keith

Thanks, Keith.
Yes, the competition is now closed, and I intend to draw the winner later today, if time allows.
This procedure will be filmed if possible and the result posted on here asap.
The ukulele has raised £174.97 for forum funds, which added to previous contributions, gives us a decent pot for contingencies, and otherwise keeps us advert/sponsor-free for at least two years.
Many thanks to everyone who has contributed so far, and good luck to all members taking part in the draw. There are 45 separate entries in total.
All entrants will have received either an email or PM from me in the last couple of weeks confirming their participation and number of entries - if you have entered but HAVE NOT received this message, please let me know within the next 2-3 hours.

Francis,
I have sent you a message about this.
Did anyone else not receive a message from me about their entry/entries?

Okay, just setting things up for the prize draw now, and should hopefully be doing it at 2pm or shortly thereafter, so please check back then. In the meantime, here is the draw sheet.

Congratulations to scorpiodog!! And to vikingblues and Phil Taylor. Looking forward to the forum remaining advert-free (and hearing Dave's uke being uked and the T-shirts being modelled)

Excellent vid, Martin.
Congrats Paul - it's a lovely uke! I can bring it to Halifax if you can wait that long, or I could post it to you if you are desperate - it has a padded case and would probably/possibly survive OK....
And congrats to Mark and Phil on winning one of the sartorially elegant t-shirts!
Thanks again Dave for building and donating such a great prize!
Keith

Woo Hoo!!!!! Me, win a raffle? Never been heard of! Really looking forward to seeing, hearing and playing the DeFaoite uke. And then taking it home! Halifax is perfect, Keith. I think I can contain myself til then. I am so chuffed. Anybody want to buy a not terribly good uke? I now have a fantastic replacement!!!

Seriously, folks, I can't say how important this forum is to me. The fact that we have talented luthiers prepared to make and donate instruments to help keep it as it is seems to encapsulate why it's so fantastic.
I cannot imagine another online community that's as supportive, knowledgeable (I just checked this spelling, and it is correct), good humoured, polite, and just as darned wonderful as this one is.
I would have supported the forum without a raffle, and winning the prize uke has just put the icing on the cake for me.
I've met strangers who turned into wonderful friends, I've learned so much since I've been a member of this and its predecessor forum, and I've met the love of my life as a result of my membership (no, it isn't a guitar, it's Sharon!).
I shall raise a glass to our wonderful community tonight, and I shall do it in the fervent hope that this community remains as friendly and community minded as it always has.
Thank you, Dave White, for providing this prize; for your skills and knowledge in knowing just about everything there is to know about making lovely sound from wooden boxes and strings, and for sharing that knowledge with us all. I think I should also mention Colin here because he also donates his guitars for our benefit, and all the other luthiers who share their knowledge.
Thank you Martin and Keith and Lynne, for giving your time so freely to ensure that this forum remains what it's always been.
Thank you members for being my friends in good times and bad, for giving advice and answering questions, and for making me laugh out loud on occasion.
I really love this forum.
Put another way:
I REALLY LOVE THIS FORUM

Congratulations Scorpiodog!
My next purchase will probably be a high end uke, so I quietly had my fingers crossed for this one. I did recently win an England Lion mascot in a draw in the Euros, so I can't complain. Actually I can, it was bloody useless...

Congratulations Paul! Congratulations too on your post about the qualities of the forum and the people who so generously gift their time and skills including the likes of this competition. I hope you enjoy the uke - I'm sure you will as it's a Dave White instrument. It will be interesting to see if the 'sartorially elegant tee shirt' manages to retain those characteristics when modelled by me ... a wee bochle suffering from ducks disease. I will wear it with pride though .... thank you! Here's to the long life of a great forum. Mark
