I'm in that slightly excited slightly nauseated place where I feel like I've bought exactly the guitar I always wanted but probably shouldn't have. Definitely at a point in time where I couldn't really afford it, and having bought what I believed was a modern equivalent only a few months ago. I realise this could quickly turn into one of those "should I sell a guitar" threads where you good people persuade me I need both. But having downsized to a little house, with a newish baby (an actual one, not ANOTHER guitar...) Maybe I'm just hankering for somebody to tell me it was a rational call.
So my current main squeeze acoustic is the Avalon 2-350 that people will have seen at Halsway this year and which I absolutely love. As I've described to people here and elsewhere it was the sound of the guitar in my head that the old Fylde wasn't equal to. It is based on the old Lowden Original body size and has many Lowden like features. It's great, loud, robust, well made, pretty etc etc. I was genuinely happy and settled...
Then a really good period Irish made George Lowden/Micky Uchida era L32c came up at a really good price... it's like the Avalon turned up to 11 - more playable, more bass, more volume, lighter weight...I was 12 when it was made and would never have had the opportunity to get one new.
urgh. friends, your reassurance please...

What's the question? Now you have your dream guitar and a back up! (get rid of the others cos you'll never play them )

Just enjoy it Gav! Sometimes you just have to jump on an opportunity that might not come up again. Keith

You have my reassurance Gavin. Just tell yourself (and others too if necessary) it's too good a opportunity to miss and once you have had it for a year or so for a full assessment you will move one out..................... but you never do because you can change your mind and the others will have forgotten I look forward to listening/looking at it next year at Halsway Cheers Phil
