I'm a firm believer in promoting really good customer service. I think this tells you not only about the company but often about their products as well.
A week or so ago I contributed to a thread — on that other guitar forum — about G7 capos. Briefly I posted that the second generation G7 was the best capo I had used. It was my go to capo until the locking mechanism jammed.
Quite quickly I received private message from Nick Campling, the engineer who designed the G7 and who runs the company with Noel Sheehan (formerly of the formidable Sheehan's store in Leicester. Nick told the G7 comes with a lifetime guarantee. The first production batch did have a few locking problems which have long since been sorted (I did buy mine rather early on). What colour did I want? A replacement would be along shortly.
The replacement arrived yesterday morning and is working flawlessly.
I know manufacturers and distributors monitor the net for mentions of their products but my experience of that (particular in another world) is that they are predominantly searching for negative comments to 'correct',
So, G7 take a bow. Great customer service. thank you.

Good story.
Is Noel no longer part of Sheehan's?

He says on the website for G7 that he sold the business to finance the capos - but the capo arrived in a Sheehan's stamped bag so he might still be involved!

Great service. I love my G7th capo. So easy to use and I've never had a problem with jamming or not gripping enough.

Great service. I love my G7th capo. So easy to use and I've never had a problem with jamming or not gripping enough. Apparently the jamming was an issue with the first production run. All sorted now.
