Hi, its me from Chester UK, am I right in thinking that a bass amp is better suited for an electro-acoustic than that of an electric guitar amp please

I've seen it said that the flatter frequency response on a bass amp would be better than an electric guitar amp where there is significant shaping of the frequency response with boosts and cuts which help to make a 'leccy sound better but don't serve the acoustic sound well.
But I've never tried an electro-acoustic through a bass amp. An acoustic amp is certainly massively better for that than an electric guitar amp.

Mark How about a free bass amp, heap I've been jammy again, first I was given my classical and dreadnought guitars, now I'm being given a Johnson amp,

A free bass amp? Well, that's a no-brainer! Get it, use it and have fun! As long as you're careful with the controls, you shouldn't make it explode or anything, and hopefully be able to find a tone you like. It'll work ok, as in, it will make your guitar louder

Congrats on a freebie, it should work fine. I remember, back in the day (1970s) people used bass amps for keyboards, too. There used to be a good quality bass amp manufacturer, called "Acoustic", back then. I remember trying to explain to a spaced out hippy guitarist once, that his "Acoustic" amp was really a bass amp. Waste of time really but being me, I had to try.
