For anyone around Coventry on Thursday, I'll be playing on a bill with the esteemed Will Pound and Eddy Jay at the Big Comfy Bookshop from 7pm If only every town and city had something called a Big Comfy Bookshop that put on acoustic gigs, this country would be a much, much better place.

If you see him, tell him his sitka spruce/Imbuya 000 style that I bought in 1982 is still going strong!!!! (yes, he builds other guitars as well as selmer/maccaferri types).

I'd almost forgotten, I'm playing a half an hour set tomorrow night at the Tap and Spile pub, Gas Street, Birmingham as part of the Acoustic Lounge series. These are lovely evenings and after guest pots there is an open mic on a first come first serve basis.
As I haven't played for weeks I shall innovate by only playing songs I can remember.

Very excited to be going to see Sierra Hull at London's Bush Hall next Monday (26 June). Plenty of YouTube videos including lots from her "bluegrass mandolin child prodigy" days but I suspect this recent one probably gives a better idea what to expect (Old Dangerfield and a cover of Tears For Fears "Mad World"):

Anyone in Birmingham this Saturday.
There is an afternoon of music in Kings Heath Square (outside of the Church) running from about 11.30 until about 4.30. There are some really good local acoustic bands and songwriters who will be there.
I will be doing 40 minutes of so from 12.45. I shall be casting caution to the wind and doing a lot of new stuff. Might be worth coming along if you like car crashes.

If you're anywhere near Bearwood in the West Midlands on Sunday 23 July, Apollo II (acoustic guitar, viola, vocals) will be playing at The Windsor Theatre Bar (formerly the Sandwell Snooker Centre), Bearwood Road in support of acoustic trio, Small Changes. We'll more than likely play a mix of covers (Neil Young, Ronnie Lane, Loudon Wainwright III) and a couple of originals. Music starts approx 2pm and admission is free.

Amit — Am coming back from London on Sunday but I'll pop along if I can. Fascinated as to what gothic alt-country sounds like!
