It's not easy finding Scots music arranged for guitar, particularly if it's not in standard tuning. However Ondrej Sarek has managed some DADGAD arrangements of tunes attached to Robert Burns songs. I know there's one or two forum members who like the Rob MacKillop books of Scots music and it occurred to me this book may be of interest too. The Book on AmazonThere's a couple of features I rather like:- 1) there are two arrangements in different keys to each tune. The plus for me is that it makes it more likely I can at least have a stab at one of them. In a tuning like DADGAD where there's after stretches that would normally involve the pinkie of the left hand it's rather limiting when you can't use that finger. 2) in the TAB part of the score he uses an asterisk to denote where there is a dotted note and has note stems above the tab numbers. It gives a much better reminder of the rhythm then having to keep looking up and down to and from the music notation part of the score. I also appreciate the way he has managed to make at least some of the arrangements relatively simple but still sounding good. One of the ones I've found most approachable is this one :- 'My Tochers the Jewel'I was a bit relieved to find after my mind boggled slightly that a 'Tocher' is a brides dowry. Another couple that have started to flow to give a wider indication of the music in the book have been these ones I've just put on Box.com:- 'Last May a Braw Wooer' 'The Birks of Aberfeldy'The Birks of Aberfeldy is not a 70s Sitcom! All played on the Vintage VE2000GG needless to say. Mark
