Folks, realise we players are a funny lot when it comes to trying and buying new things, but wanted to do a quick review of the guitar tech box 2.....Not associated in any way to the company, bought this with my own money as I was fed up of making do with blue peter, let's cobble something together out of toilet roll tubes improvisations, which whilst usually ok could have been better Not going to rave but enough to say that I have been thoroughly impressed with the work stand.Comes in a very high quality box, fits together snugly, adjusts properly to different heights and above all has proved very sturdy and rock free.everything I wanted delivered..I use it for the usual cleaning duties, maintenance, string changes and would recommend to anyone with an acoustic or electric . Not for everyone, but if you are looking then you have my vote.

Looks a very clever design does that. Let us know what you think after a few months use eh.
Have to confess I make do with my knees, or a settee or a towel on kitchen worktop depending on what I'm doing. (Yes, I am still talking about giving guitars a good seeing to.)
This device looks like it might have possibilities though - thanks for posting!

I use a similar thing that's pictured in the background of your pictures...the dining table. Looks a well made bit of kit, and it should be at the price... but I could have a re-string done in the time it'd take me to put the thing together.

Knees.been there done that...table yep that too...lol
For all you keen builders out there the blueprint is right there in pictures...go forth and build one.....not much to it
Chipboard, acrylic or plastic, bit of felt, some mechanism for locking together and away you go.....
Never did get blue peter badge on improvisation of everyday household items though

I've found an ironing board works well for the string changing and cleaning which is all I ever try to do. Adjustable height, padding it's all I need. I use a cheap folding neck rest for stability. This thing looks great but it's far more than I need.
I think it's a great design, though.

Thanks for posting this review. It looks a very interesting and useful bit of kit. I didn't know about this sort of thing, but I think it's great!

In our household, there is never room on our board for anything other than ironing.....and there's only two of us!!!!......I didn't think I owned the amount of clothes that turn up,but I obviously do.

Sorry, what's an ironing board? One of the benefits of being fat is that you never have to iron clothes...

I do all my fettling (not a euphemism) on a bed. Like me, it's padded, soft, stationary and near the ground.

I just bought a rocking gardening seat (meant for weeding instead of groveling on your knees) for string changing. I usually put my guitar on a padded ottoman but as it's low to the ground I end up not being able to get up without creaking afterwards. I changed strings on my 3 guitars this week and can assert I enjoyed the rocking but I'm not sure if it helped with the creaking
