I'm going to brave the mandolin police and buy a capo for my Jimmy Moon mandolin. I've read that the Shubb banjo capo fits most mandolins but the Amazon reviews for it (see the link below) are all related to the guitar - confusing. I seem to remember you using one Keith - was it this one? Shubb Banjo Capo on AmazonDoes anyone else use one, and if so what have you found to be 'good'? thanks Martin

I have a smaller capo by Shubb (and one by G7th) which I use for banjo, but which also fit mandolin (although I had to deal with a pub full of shocked faces when I attempted to use it on my mando in a session ). The only thing you may have to watch for is that many banjos have a flat fretboard, and mandolin boards may have a radius.

I use the PW little one just like Andrew linked to above - much lighter and less obtrusive than my cut down Shubb which I used to use. Not sure which one you saw me use martin, but prob the PW.

The little Shubb. Never used it on mando before, but I've just tried and it works well. Makes a good banjo and zouk capo.

I have the little planet waves mando/banjo capo and it works brilliantly and is very unobtrusive.

Thanks Pete I just don't want to buy the wrong one. Martin I'm not sure there is a wrong one in this instance. They seem less inclined to move or exhibit other quirks on narrower necks in any case.

I bought a Paige capo (stirrup style) for my Mandola. Works brilliantly.
