John Smith was in Brum yesterday evening, a fine concert from a wonderful guitar player, songwriter and singer. If you get a chance to see him live do! He's just finishing off a short UK tour now but will be touring in Europe extensively over the Spring — tour dates here. Your guaranteed a great evening — though his opening act is, well, a challenge! This tour was meant to co-incide with the release of his new CD which sadly wasn't ready. He will be touring the UK again later in the year when the CD arrives! He did a fair amount of stuff from it and it sounds very promising, a little more upbeat than the Great Lakes Album.

Good stuff! Only seen JS once - he was part of the touring Transatlantic Sessions a few years ago, and as well as playing in the house band he did a couple of songs solo. Mega-talented!
Had hoped to see him in Exeter tonight, but won't be able to make it now, sadly.
Pity about the CD though, Andy.

Keith He's an engaging performer Keith, not the most confident of mid song patter but self deprecating and quite funny. Had a good to and fro with the audience.
As I said, he will;l be touring again in the autumn. I can only say go if you can!SaveSave
