After my session on Tuesday I stayed behind to listen to the open mic contributions. A guy from the Black Country came up with a Taylor T5 — a thinly, hollow bodied electric — this was a 12 string version.
This was the best amplified sound I have ever heard, beautifully miking electric and acoustic resonance. I know the PA system well and the sound engineer.
The guest played a driving blues, S and G's Mrs Robinson and some Lindisfarne. A great sound.
Has anyone played one of these?

I did. It sounds great and plays like a dream. You can play practically everything (at least to my very limited abilities) on it. Although I'm saving on a hollowbody right now, the T5 still is a guitar I'd like to own one day. That's the one I played: Taylor t5 Koa

The pickup system has 5 settings apparently. The best acoustic one seems like a Fishman rare Earth Blend — but just so much more of it.
