My other purchase of the weekend.
Giddens was in the Carolina Chocolate Drops with Dom Flemons. Let year she produced her first solo album, produced by T Bone Burnett, Tomorrow is my Turn which was a great album, great production with a lot of standards.
This album is more roots with a lot of self-penned stuff. Definitely a new generation of country blues and country, accessible to the tradition with some more modern stuff — even a bit of rap that I found OK!
