Yep, agree totally. It's just not possible for us poor 'maried with kids' players, that's all

Can only agree, especially: "that the brains of guitarists are different from the brains of other people". So true, and in oh so many - and not necessarily good - ways, but it's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Whilst not relevant to me, my immense talent is purely intuitive, I do feel for you all. Now where did I put my pig? Oh there it is flying past the window in the practice room

Ah, it would appear I've been doing it all wrong. Still, it wouldn't be the first time...

No untidy, cluttered space? That's me knackered then - I only need to walk into a room and 5 minutes later it's cluttered.

Spotted this via facebook, which seems to be saying the opposite - we're better at creative thinking in disorderly spaces: A Messy Desk Is a Sign of Genius, According to ScienceI do occasionally wonder if articles like the one in the original post are written by people who find tidying more rewarding than practice.

For me, there's a big difference between 'being creative' and 'practicing' although, in fairness, I do neither I would almost go so far as to say that they are opposites. I don't think you can practice being creative. Do you see where I'm coming from?

I agree with what you're saying Leo, you can't practice to be creative, but you need to practice to be creative

That quote from Albert Einstein in that link ....... "If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what, then, is an empty desk a sign?"Wonderful. I must blow that up to a big print size and put it up on my office wall! Mark

It's just me and the guitar in the spare bedroom. Bedside light optional.
