Here's one for the more electronically minded boffins amongst you. Imagine you have a guitar with a Fishman Isys+ USB system onboard. Although it's ok with judicious use of your Boss AD-2, you're wondering if it would be possible to fit your pre-used K&K pure mini and bypass the Fishman, rendering it obsolete but giving you a more authentic plugged in sound. Or better still, combine them! What conclusion do you reach?

I've tried complicated dual-source setups and have come to the conclusion that simpler is more usable. I still have way too many variables in my rigs, but far fewer than I used to have, so I'm getting better at using what I have to get closer to the tone I'm looking for. It's a constant evolution though.

Or better still, combine them! What conclusion do you reach? If the Fishman is wired to a jack socket on the lower bout (as I think it usually is?) you could put in the K&K with the endpin jack without needing to touch the Isys & have the choice of either system (or use both on different PA channels) - this would probably be my preferred choice, although it does mean one more hole in the guitar. Alternatively, if you know someone sharp enough with electronics it should be possible to wire the K&K to the Isys preamp in place of the UST, so you don't need the K&K external preamp, but given that both preamps are meant to be pickup specific it could be a bit of a wild card as to whether you end up with a brilliant, or terrible sound. I'm sure there's a way to blend both systems internally, but I suspect if you're doing that level of mucking around & don't want to do your own soldering it would probably be more cost effective to just buy a new blend system & get it installed.

Thanks PistolPete for putting that in a nutshell for me. Much appreciated. I may go for your first option at some point. For now the Fishman Isys is acceptable put through a Boss AD-2.
