There are reports that Bob Brosman has died at the age of 59. Nothing other than that at the moment. RIP

Oh dear, let's hope they're unfounded.

I remember a while back looking at some videos of Bear Creek guitars and saw one with him.
A big loss...

Looks like Wiki beat most agencies to this bad news.
A sad loss for many, not least his family. RIP.

That's really bad news - I saw him a few years ago at the Westy in Aldershot and it was one of the most entertaining gigs I have been to.

Dreadful news; he was one of the most amazing live performers you could experience and had a genuine interest in bringing the music (especially rhythms) of the downtrodden out into the open. He could do amazing raves about the difference between Western 'military' time and syncopation.
I think he got bored with the restraints of it, but he also was probably one of the best straight delta bluesman ever when he put on his hard core hat.

I seem to remember he was on a relentless and wonderful campaign for odd numbers in timing particularly 3's as an antidote for 'duffduff' music (2/2 pop which he likened to militaristic marching music with a pop gloss) ... 'try making love to that' he said.
