Here's a bit of fun to join in with. As we all know there is now some great live content on You Tube with quality sound taken direct from the Board. I've created a playlist called Great Acoustic Gigs. And you can all post to it. This is not only a way of us sharing what we like but of learning about new musicians. I've put five gigs on the list for starters. Dive on in! Great Acoustic Gigs
I think you have to be logged into You Tube/Google before you can subscribe. The only rule. Make sure the sound quality is good! Non of this digital recorder in the audience stuff.

well done Andy the sound quality on some of theses recordings is very good any idea how they were recorded I am assuming not a Zoom Direct from the Sound Desk Paul. We're going to see a lot like this. Festivals such as Shrewsbury — and the big bands — are using mixing desks that record 24/96 and this is far higher quality than many people can properly hear! A look at Hi Res download sites is insightful. We are beginning to see a lot of downloads of acoustic artists offered in 24/48, which I reckon means they were recorded on compact digital desks. Yamaha, Persons, Allen and Heath and Soundcraft all offer reasonably priced digital desks that can do this now. Allen and Heath have just released two compact mixers which digitally process and record at 24/96, which is probably not only a game changer but the future. (Nice that they are based in Cornwall). Lots of the USA radio stations now produce decent short concerts with good sound. For festivals like Shrewsbury it makes a lot of sense to put full performances online. It keeps them prominent, underlines the quality of their bill. They sell out of course so this doesn't impact on their bottom line. And as store based CD sales continue to die most of the performers I like will be happy of this eplosure so that they can encourage a few more people at their gigs. I now run You Tube through my hifi. I love evenings alone. I can often watch You Tube for hours :-) But then I'm still paying for concert tickets! SaveSave

I'm so bad at web stuff I couldn't figure out how to add a gig to the Playlist - I followed some instructions but only succeeded in saving the playlist to my page! Anyway, here's one of my favourites:

Anyway, here's one of my favourites: I'm not able to try adding myself as I'm always logged in. Anyhow, this is now added to the list! SaveSave

I've only just come across this. It's as if someone's putting a playlist together just for me. Sarah Jarosz, the Milk Carton Kids, Sonny and Brownie. That's my listening for tomorrow sorted out. Thanks for this.
