Just back from this Celtic Connections concert in the City Halls in Glasgow. Teddy Thompson performed beautifully. He's not blessed with great stage presence but he is a nice guitarist and he can sing. Thoroughly enjoyed his gig. I was really there because I am a confirmed Alison Moorer fan. She and her sister were the headline act. I would say that they were, at best, unprepared and under rehearsed. Their band was no better than can be heard in most bars on most evenings and not as good as some of those. At one point in the concert they, Moorer and Lynne, stopped mid song and asked if anyone in the audience knew the words of the second verse. A roadie appeared with a mobile phone having, I presume, googled the words for them. A disgraceful and unprofessional display. Alison Moorer gave a lovely rendition of her song 'Alabama'. Shortly after that I left the auditorium. They're in Dublin on Sunday and Manchester on Monday. I advise you to be otherwise engaged. I'd go back and see Teddy Thompson again in a heartbeat. You never know his mum might turn up too.

Glad you enjoyed it doc I didn't know this was on, and might have fancied seeing Shelby Lynne.

It's a shame the headliners disappointed, I'm a fan of Shelby Lynne myself. I saw Teddy Thompson as a support act a few years back and wasn't overly impressed, his sister with The Rails were a different story, they were brilliant and that fella can really play the guitar.

Can't be easy under any circumstances to be Teddy with such a heritage.
