A guitarist who seems to invoke love or hate responses, personally I'm in the favourable side of things.
A bit of Bach, which isn't his normal line of things but is very nice nonetheless.

Thanks for that one ewh - he doesn't waste any of his frets does he? And he had a couple of conversational distractions without missing a note. I'm on the favourable side too! Keith

I can only sit back and admire his skill and his ability... what's not to like? Well, apart from the floppy hair, mind...

If you had hair I bet it would be floppy too Enjoyed the guitar playing too - I'll have to get Jonny M to play me that one as a test for EDN when he comes here next

I can only admire his skill but the music leaves me somewhat cold. A bit like a very clever academic exercise without feeling: there was more soul in his hair...

Is that due to his playing or the composition? Or both? Soul is not the absolute accomplishment of music. Even if it was it's something which has no absolute definition.

A bit of both. For me, great music produces an emotional response. As such, it a personal thing and beyond objective definition. Some music makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up in a shiver of delight. This can be as much about the performance as the composition.
