Earlier this morning an email landed in my inbox telling me that Prine's new album was now available as a download. Almost instantly I bought it.
Oh, what joy. If you like Prine this is is a must. Nobody else has that phrasing, those slightly off beat and funny lyrics. There's not much original, just classic John Prine.
Some of rhymes here are ridiculous but they just make you smile. Prime is a kind of a genius.

He also writes some very good stuff about ordinary people which resonate, Hello in There is a good example also Donald and Lydia and Your flag decal won't get you into heaven
I discovered him a few years ago when a friend played Hello In There at an acoustic night and i thought what a great song. I don't understand why he is relatively unknown in Europe and the UK bit Like Townes van Zant. is it because Euopean people can't appreciate that type of song.writing?

Possibly — I'd love to see how he writes a song. Some of the rhymes are extraordinary. It's often kind of country type rap!
