Getting this one ready for Halifax later this year. Mahogany back and sides with a Weastern Red Cedar top. Build will be very much like the Lacewood. Images show me cleaning up the inside faces of the mahogany side plates with #240 grit. Other details to follow...

Looking forward to this one a lot, Francis. I was v taken with the lacewood guitar in many ways - great to see you doing another one in that shape, and cedar mahogany is a lovely combo! Keith

Francis, that curved palm sander looks like a very useful piece of kit. Please tell where one can be found!

Working on the rosette: It has similarities to the parlour. Strange how sometime when forced to make a change from the 'norm' (as in the parlour) it flavours the thinking on subsequent work... Quick trip through the sander makes all the difference - couple of little bit to attend to but fairly happy so far... Western Red Cedar Soundboard, White/Black/White lines and Wenge veneer inlay

Walnut bridge plate with drill bit register pins... Bridge plate 2.5mm thick with no carbon fibre. Two outer pin holes drilled at 3mm and drill bits used to register the plates position whilst glue cures. Remaining holes and the outer ones will be opened out to 4mm later in the process for more register pins to locate the two sets of primary braces.

Looks lovely even without any finish! K Thanks Keith - couple of small touch-ups where the Sapele has chipped cutting the binding channels. Otherwise all gone well.

Beautiful francis. I'm sorry that I missed the recent posts until today. I can't believe how clean your unfinished instrument looks.
