Hey guys, I want to know a little about Waterloo and if you think it's worth the cash investment to go down that rabbit hole. I'm intrigued by the WL-14 ladder braced and the WL-S, slotted headstock (12 fretter).
I've played them a little bit in a store a while back and I remember liking a 70's gibbo a bit better at the same price tag, but felt a little uneasy about some of the hardware. I liked the Waterloo because I knew it wouldn't just suddenly fall apart. I have some old Stellas and Harmony guitars. They are cool but have a lot of problems. Would a better investment be to just get my stella restored professionally?
Also, I'm intrigued by Eastman acoustics and I hear (i think on this very forum) that they're every bit as good as a waterloo. But I don't have the option to play one before buying it.
All the best, -a

I’ve never played a Waterloo that didn’t bring a smile to my face!

I have two as well a ladder braced WL14 and a WL K both great guitars.
I played a great Eastman jumbo lunchtime this week but I prefer my Waterloos.

Has anybody played the Waterloo WL-JK Jumbo? If so what are you thoughts on the guitar for strumming and fingerstyle? Cheers Steve.

Hi, I went to guitar village hoping to buy a gibson L-00 of some sort. They had a fairly good selection at the time. I bought a Waterloo (I can;t say or write that without a faux Peter Seller's french accent). I got me a WL-12, which was better sounding than any of the gibbos, and anyway I play mainly Collings so it was a kinda logic.
Trouble is the neck is a bit narrow for me - says it is a 1 & 3/4" but its a small 1 & 3/4" ... most of my guitars have 1 & 13/16" nut widths. I pick it up from time to time, but rarely for long. It has, however, opened up very nicely since I bought it in November 2016.

Nice playing there Andy. Enjoyed that. I'm tempted by a Waterloo but not enough yet to part with the cash. Though that may change one day. Iain
