I’ve been to this for the last two years and have not been disappointed. If you browse the web then you’ll see that Jesper has written a well regarded book on Bluegrass Improvisation.
This year will include eight tunes including a David Grisman improvisation, Jesse McReynolds cross picking, Ricky Skaggs, and a tune from the Scandinavian group Vasen. It’s ideal for all levels. He usually demonstrates the tune and includes some background and theory, the participants then run through it. Issues are then discussed. For the last two years I've gone away with a CD of the tunes and tab printouts, although this year the materials have been provided upfront and online.
It’s only £90 for the Saturday and Sunday. We usually book a meal at a local pub, although there is no pressure to - if you want to you'll need to contact Will who has the menu options. The venue is 5 minutes from the A303 near Yeovil. If you are in the South of England it is fairly easy to get to."
