Humph!
I have with guitar creativity for the last month a permanently blank canvass due to a creative lull.
Hopefully it's just a lull and is not permanent.
This last couple of weeks I've been noodling about on my old Tanglewood TW73, which is tuned in open G.
Hoping that a change of guitar and change of tuning might inspire.
The best that came out of that experiment was ....
Not what I'd call a great return on investment of time.
I then picked up one of my Vintage Giltrap guitars this afternoon today to go back to the world of (sodding*) DADGAD.
And couldn't remember most of the scale shapes on the fretboard.
Tried again this evening and those shapes seem to have come back. That's something at least.
I've tried playing printed stuff by other people, I've tried semi-improvs on those same pieces. I've tried songs. Nowt quite works.
I see looking back through the recording archive I had a 2 month lull in August / September 2016 and in 2015 - maybe it's the time of year.
Autumn when things die and it starts to get darker and colder. Post summer blues?
I guess I just have to be patient and wait for things to spark again.
