To answer your question honestly then the answer is no. I have an app called lyric pad which enables me play songs right the way through. I host an open mic night and teach guitar to beginners at a guitar school. So I get asked to play a wide variety of songs, so don’t really want to spend to much time trying to learn new songs. As an example I’ve been learning 4 to 5 songs a month, from Tears in Heaven to Sultans of swing to sex on fire. I might have to stop the students picking the songs 😂😂

Read an article the other day about the pain musicians put themselves through when they perform. Some have had to give up altogether, some end up having operations and some have to change the way they play. I broke my left thumb when I was about 18. This now makes playing bar chords very painful after an hour of playing also used to get pain in my right elbow. Solved the elbow pain by lifting light weights a couple of times a week. Also tuning down half a step has helped with the bar chords. Would definitely recommend regular exercises. The older we get the weaker our muscles become.

Yes, I've bought a few guitars from them over the years. Still get my strings from them. You know the saying use them or lose them.

Bleatoid I have suffered from pain in the elbow from time to time. I found lifting light weights helped. Providing I exercise with the weights regularly I don’t get the pain.

I have a tc helicon play acoustic vocal harmoniser pedal. I like it very much. You can add some guitar effects like chorus and reverb. Also different pitches for the vocal harmonising, high low etc. Has loads of presets for songs. It also keeps your vocals in the key you are playing on your guitar. It has a looping function to. Plenty of demo videos on YouTube.

A lot will depend on the audience. Have you considered something more modern like, Stereophonics, Jake Bugg, Passenger or even some acoustic versions of heavy rock like highway to hell, you shook me all night long. Motörhead even did a slow bluesy version of Ace of spades which goes down well. Like I said it all depends on the audience even some Oasis songs always go down well.

Thanks for the offer Martin. Would love to come but unfortunely can’t make it 👍 Maybe one year I’ll manage to get there.

Yes Andy the J15 was very nice. It was warm in the shop and my hands were sweaty and sticking to the neck. Otherwise I might have brought it home with me.

Tried a J15 & J45 cutaway today. Unfortunately I don’t know enough about tone to describe it in detail. However I do know what sound I like. Both guitars were set up well with a nice action. The J15 had a more mellow sound to my ears which I liked. The J45 had a more bassie sound which I also liked but not as much as the J15. Played the J15 for about 40 minutes liked the sound but the neck had a Gloss finish and my fretting hand kept sticking to it. I found it hard to move my hand up and down the neck. To be honest although I enjoyed playing both guitars it helped me appreciate my Venus. I’m gonna keep my money until I’ve tried the Faith PJE legacy Mars. It’s similar price to the J15.

I can play my Faith Venus for hours sitting down or standing. It’s described on the Faith website as being OM / Auditorium shape. I also have a Faith Mercury which I have trouble with either.

Took my Faith High Gloss Venus to Harry Miller in Treuddyn near Mold today for a check up as I had a bit of string buzz. He sorted it in a few minutes and he didn’t charge me. Had a little tour around his workshop. He also makes electric and acoustic guitars as well as repairs. Had a good old chat about guitars. Top bloke will definitely go back if I need any of my guitars setting up.
