Earl Scruggs was also a great guitarist. The version of the Carter Family's You Are My Flower he played for The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's seminal Will The Circle Be Unbroken album is quite beautiful.

And check out the Roy Rogers live version of 'Terraplane Blues' on YouTube, too.

Not exactly an acoustic song, but definitely a great acoustic version

If by 'songs' we mean tunes with words, then I offer: Magical piece of music, takes me right back to when I first started listening to Dylan, -never heard the verbal intro before though? That wasn't on the recording I used to have? Love this and love the Martin Simpson cover. Great songs will stand different treatments.

I like this because they are two greats of guitar music one known for his finger picking and the other for his lyrics

Gotta have a bit of Ray in here people ......i see Ray must model his beard on Keith's fine specimen Maybe if i keep drinking the Southern Comfort i will get a voice like Ray's ......mind you worst thing is as a result i will talk like the honey monster and STILL wont be able to sing a note

Attached - some Martin Simpson...
As always with MS live, there's a fair amount of tuning/pre-amble. Worth it though...
