Fluffed the outro a bit… and no idea if I was singing in tune. And there was a sodding audience - but I think I kept me tongue in.
Not seen/heard the video so who knows? 😀

I actually knew the passage, just not by Chapter and Verse. How much is a denari in euro? A silver Denarius would be worth about 2.5 Euro at the time the story was told... the Roman Empire did, of course, devalue it over time - to such an extent that, by the end of the roman empire, it was worth about 10 cents

I sold it cheap to a young guy, he had it up for sale for over double what he paid me for it within a few days. Matthew 20. 1-16 As long as I'm content with what I was offered, what happens afterwards is no concern of mine. I've got a whole sermon, well, two, on this if anyone's got 15 minutes

Fair play for keeping 'em, scorpiodog! My (many, many) false dawns get deleted - I don't have a big enough hard drive This whole thread isn't helping me prepare for Thursday's trip to Brokenhead to record for the www.righttofoodguitarsessions.com. On video. Audio is bad enough, but having to remember to not stick my tongue out will be a challenge that I may find insurmountable...

They went for £1300 and £1100 respectively. Plus byer's premium of course. Not cheap - but not extortionate, either.

I might see if Mel is available to visit the forum meeting in September - or happy to let me bring the guitar… if I remember (and if that’s ok with everyone) 😀

If anybody wants to record a video (you need to be able to get to Liverpool) you can email Mel from the link on the front page I have been bullied/shamed into doing a song… recording next Thursday before the 2nd leg of the Sparta Prague game. If Mel has any sense it won’t see the light of day - but that’s his decision. It is a genuine ‘thing’ - if anyone is within reach of Merseyside, contact Mel and get involved. All you need is an original song…

Many of you will remember, and some of you have benefitted, from davewhite 's 'business model - whereby you pay for the materials and he'll build you an instrument for an agreed donation to a charity. One of those charities is 'Fans Supporting Foodbanks' started in Liverpool by Ian Byrne MP (LFC fan) and Dave Kelly (Everton FC) with just a purple wheely bin - and the idea has now spread across the UK. Whenever I go to the match, I always take along a donation of food or toiletries. If every fan, who was able to, did that for their local club, food poverty would be drastically reduced. As part of his support for FSF, Dave built a guitar which was raffled off at one of our forum meets and successfully raised several hundred quid for the charity; robmc was the raffle winner. So Dave made them another to do with as they saw fit... There were (and still are) many options - some think it should be raffled, some think it should be auctioned - but what is certain is that people need to know it exists if it's going to raise funds for, or the profile of, the charity. To help with that, the guitar was passed to Mel Bowen who has used his contacts in the music scene both locally and nationally to invite musicians to record a song, on video, using the guitar. Dave and I met up with Mel before the Burnley game at Anfield last month when he showed us the nascent website - which had not yet been published. Dave and Mel Dave, Ian Byrne and Mel Mel messaged us today to say that the website has gone 'live'. It will continue to develop as new artists are added to the roster - not just 'stars' but ordinary folk and unknown musicians, too. Here's what we've got so far... Right To Food Guitar
Good start, eh? ONE GUITAR. ONE ARTIST. ONE SONG. ONE CAUSE.

Great photos, Oska Burman Guitars , of what looks to be the makings of a stunning guitar. I don't know what it is about you instrument builders but you also all seem to be excellent photographers, too. (or have access to one!)
