My friend David Crozier has 2 of Alex Willis' guitars in his shop in Eastbourne. Both Brazilian rosewood. Very reasonable price.

I had the real pleasure to be at Ralph McTells birthday bash at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane last night.
What a fantastic night. Packed house of adoring fans! Ralph was joined by a host of guests including Danny Thompson, John Sheahan, Frank Gallagher etc. The great John Williams joined Ralph for "Streets of London"- WOW!
I discovered Ralph's work fairly recently as my former guitar teacher was a fan and taught me a few songs. I have seen Ralph a few times now and he always makes me smile.
And the best thing - I felt young among the loyal fans!!!

Just watching it now. Ralph Mctell played Anji on a gibson with a split saddle. Not seen that before. Any ideas which model?

I thought about converting a wardrobe but depth was the issue. I was lucky to find a couple of furniture makers locally who played guitar and they were very happy to give it a go!

I too love youtube - loads of useful stuff on there (amongst the not so useful stuff!)
I am obviously lazy and need to make more of an effort

Everyone I play with is more skilled than me! Thank you for your tips. I have recently started playing with a friend of mine so I will attempt to learn!

Let me please start by stating that I love acoustic guitars and playing acoustic guitars.
I think I have reached a plateau in my playing. I mainly play to accompany myself singing my country songs and therefore I do basic finger style and strumming. I would love to introduce some more interesting fills in the solo guitar sections instead of repeating the chord patterns but I need a kick up the backside to get me to do it. How do you all motivate yourselves to keep learning?

I am lucky to have had a lovely guitar cabinet built to look after my beauties. I have placed a couple of humidity meters in there and it seems a stable atmosphere.
