Thanks Chaps your advice is much appreciated as I really had no idea of what to suggest! ocarolan, yes he holds the uke as a right handed person would. As long as is does not cause any problems we will stick with it.

I have just read that most cheaper uke do not have a compensating saddle. If this is the case with his I guess it would be possible to simply turn the string around!

Rather amusingly I have been asked to teach a 6 year old to play the uke. (So I am currently having to teach myself)
He is left handed (completely) and they have purchased him a right handed uke. He seems very comfortable with it, picks up the right way and strums in rhythm. Still I can't help thinking he should at least try a left handed. I assume we have left handed / right handed for a reason and that it will make things more difficult for him in the long run. Any advise as I do not want to upset the parents with out good reason?

I like bit of piano! She plays guitar as well and I probably should have posted one of them here. Still that would have involved me thinking! Dope, I was thinking - Oliver is guitar.

You don't seem to like it, so £85 is still money wasted if you are not going to use it.

Nice piece there, nikdavies. I liked the change of style, pace and rhythm (not too keen on the reverb level though LOL) At the risk of being chucked off this site, I like a little reverb! There I have said it, it not like I had any respect to loose.

Like most things I don't really get it. Is this for members who have uploaded their own music to Soundcloud or to protect against say me uploading the fantastic Men in Black the EP? If it be the first, then don't upload your music to Soundcloud if you do not want it distributed without getting cash. I am probably missing the point again.
Still I am off down the pub again tonight, so with any luck you get the opinion of drunken me tonight. My advice would be to ignore him!

Sorry for my last post. Written after a trip to the pub and far to many shandies. Probably trying to say 'confuse your stats' rather than 'states', but who knows. Drunken me does some pretty random things, like sign me up to Halifax!

One of the things I like about Soundcloud (apart from its ease of use) is that you can track statistics about how often a track gets played and so on. For some reason, my parody "Hello Darkness My Old Friend' gets played a number of times each day and has been for over a year - mostly by people in the States and Brazil. Weird! I have played it to confuse your states. Generously it get 2 (now 3) likes out of 1400 (now 1401) plays.

Nice song there, alexkirtley - I didn't catch the name of the composer (combination of rubbish ears and poor PC speakers!)... who was it? Sam beam, but he goes by the name Iron and Wine, amazing musician I really like Iron and Wine and this song is a particular favorite. A really good attempt at covering someone who I think is probably harder to cover than he sounds.

I would highly recommend Paul simon transcribed by mark Hanson. Chords shapes as required with capo and good explanation of fingering. Bit of a mark Hanson fan mind.
