How much was the Yamaha? there seems to be a resurgence in those "stirrup" types - unusually this one isn't sprung!

I'd add a positive vote for Hercules - have been lugging my triple stand aroudn for years and it has more than paid for itself.

Hercules for me too, although I was impressed with some smart looking wooden foldable stands at the weekend - Cooperstand I think. Not very cheap, but nice. Don't buy a Cooper stand unless you want to put your guitar on it and never touch it. terrible product, terrible company, shocking customer service Mine snapped, pitching an expensive guitar onto the floor under very light home use - "If you are having a problem of this type, it's most likely that your activity is not what the wooden product is intended and designed for. As clearly stated on our website, the wood products are specifically designed for protected display and solo activity. These stands are not intended for on stage use or aggressive activity" cooper stand by gavin davenport, on Flickr link

"since I started using the Anthem " I keep saying that, when what I mean is since I started using the AURA... stupid random brand name things... I mean the Aura, and just the Baggs Element under saddles.

The rare earth blend is good, the standard sans mic is OK - but a compromise that lots of split saddle folks seem to go for. I like them, but since I started using the Anthem I'm really happy with the under saddle sound.

ideally I'd like to get another Lr Baggs Anthem SL installed but I think they only do the full system as a split saddle... there's a guy selling the full system on the Lowden group on facebook for a really good price. www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1344799302239975/

The recent Sigma J45 copy is supposed to be absolutely superb. I'm also very fond of the Epiphone Zenith roundhole - both list slightly higher but can be had for a street price of around £400

It's a different beast when you can add in the huge variety of other models. You can match body volumes, cutaway, mic choice, top and body woods. Pretty impressive and a huge step forward for me from the undersaddle alone.

Weirdly the value has stayed low for the "fixed" versions - £150 for a used Sixteen and between £50 and £80 for the locked models. The bottom backplate is a sticker, and Fishman will sell the full unlock software for $29 meaning you're looking at around £80 fully unlocked.
I'm running a boss tuner into the pedal, then EQ and out to my stereo DI.
If there were more bouzouki models available I would definitely be buying a second.

I love it, but am gutted that I spent 150quid on a 16 when I could've done the same job for half the money. Will try and record some sound samples this week.

I've got a couple of guitars that have baggs Element undersaddle pickups in. At any kind of volume they reveal all those horrible old piezo artefacts, and it's frustrated me for ages that great guitars sound average on stage. I didn't want to spend tons on a pair of new pickups, particularly when there's still going to be a level of gamble on what will sound right. I've gone back to messing around with the Fishman Aura - previously tried the spectrum DI but it was over engineered and not the best tuner or best DI. Now I picked up the Aura 16 cheaply and I am completely blown away by the difference.
Running the quacky sounding J15 with the J45 and schoeps mic image is a great grin inducing improvement. Messing around with other guitars and images but am stunned by how good this is with really minimal tweakage. Easily as good as what I was getting with the Rare Earth blend but easier and (now) cheaper.
Fishman have only just admitted that their cheaper aura pedals are the same spec as the 16 (if you pry off the aluminium sticker covering the USB port) really recommended as you can pick there up for less than £70.
Anyone else gone down this route?

I have an instrument where I have an unsatisfactory sounding undersaddle (and can't change it easily due to bracing restricting other choices) and have just invested in a Fishman Aura 16. As far as I can see, the system works in a similar way, and I know you can make your own images. Possibly better news for other people - Fishman have an offer on where you can unlock the basic Aura pedals to work like a full Aura 16 for $29- I've seen a used pedal this week for about £60 (less than I paid!)
If it doesn't work then this looks tempting (but expensive!).

Got my copy yesterday and have listened a few times in the car. Fantastic stuff, a great advert for not only Dave's instruments but his ever-tasteful and highly competent playing. Really enjoying it.
