Thanks for starting this thread Martin. Just begiining to play slide and finding it quite addictive, excellent video. Cheers. I did a cd of bits and pieces from the video - very short, but you may find it useful. It also covers open G (whereas we only had time for open D at Halifax). Ping me your address and I'll send you a copy. I gave them away at Halifax so there's no charge.

Wonderful thread Bernd, nice looking guitar as well. I have just bought a slide from `diamond bottlenecks`, as `bluesboytoby` has sugested. What a difference they make. Great service from Ian and worth every penny. Cheers and good luck.

Well if Carlsberg did days then this would be one of there best. I have just taken delivery of a 2006 National NRP m2 Mahogany resonator. To say i`m chuffed is an understatment. This is my first foray into resonators and slide playing, although i did spend some time practicing on my sons Guvnor kids guitar, to make sure i would stick with it. The sale of my Perkins Parlour went a long way to funding this guitar, so i do feel really lucky to have it. My Parlour went to Warrington and my Resonator came from a lovely bloke off the Wirral. He had just spent a weekend in Buxton at a Woody Mann weekend. Lucky sod! I think i have added a picture , if i have done it right. Now, where`s the Resonator section of the forum Sorry Martin.

I enjoyed that too Steve. Also loved the really casual way he scratched his eye without missing a beat. Keith Good spot Keith, i missed that first time round.

Sounds like a great nights entertainment. I went to see Tommy Emmanuel in Manchester a couple of years ago, like you just sat there with a grin on my face all night. Awesome.

Thanks for the replies, Keith, regarding the elogated body, i know that Martin do this and Taylor keep the body the same shape. So i suppose its horses for courses. Dave, just read the articles. really god stuff especially the `scale length` one, taking into account any issues the player may have, wrist pain etc. Thanks once again. Cheers Steve.
