I can't get any more guitars because all my guitar stands are full.

I can't see myself buying another guitar in the foreseeable future. I have 3 steel strings and 1 nylon string that I use live. All have different characteristics so I (at least to myself) can justify all of them. Any new ones and I'd have to get rid for space reasons and I wouldn't want to part with any of them.

I've pretty much stopped wanting new instruments and decided to try playing the ones I have rather better, but I'd be seriously tempted should an old J45 come within reach.
The maximum during my collecting years was (I think) 12 acoustics of various sorts, but now I'm down to a handful. Two are mine and keepers (National and Hiscox 6-string), two have been claimed by my sons (Gurian and Howlett OM), and two have been declared Family Heirlooms and so cannot be sold (Lowden and Hisox bass). The only ones I can say I really regret selling were an Atkin, and possibly the Tom Mates 12-string, but my hands were starting to find it too hard to play that one.

I can't get any more guitars because all my guitar stands are full. Peter The completely obvious solution to the dilemma is to start by acquiring a new guitar stand. After that, a world full of possibilities unfolds... That, is my approach, at least. Cheers, Ian

I have some lovely Yamahas and every time I get tempted by another guitar I end up asking myself when I'm going to play it (or when I will play the Yammies if I like it as much as I think I will). So far that has been sufficient to keep me in check but I must admit I've been tempted more then usual recently. I think I might be bringing something in after Xmas. We'll see....

I am going out anyway, as the battery on my phone has run out of charge and I need a new phone. Peter

Nope. There's a parlour-sized hole that I need to fill at some point.
And then there's the desire for a solid cedar topped steel strung acoustic.
And wouldn't it be nice to have a 12-string acoustic (solid top preferably....)
And isn't it always handy to have an acoustic in DADGAD* so you can just grab it and go and not have to go through re-tuning?
(*other tunings are available/acceptable)

Having said I'm pretty much off buying instruments, a friend of mine is selling an old (very old) Lowden with a serial number about 30 above mine... and an S-size would complement my L very nicely...

Temporarily, which means that I stop wanting to buy another instrument when I just got one. It even lasts a couple of days.

Actually I was fairly proud of myself after having sold four guitars this year but then I turned around and used the money to buy two amps and a DI box. So much for my recovery.

It always seems to be one more to complete the collection, with me. If only. :xmas10:

Not really. I just got a carbon fibre Lava guitar for the campervan and now I'm thinking a nylon string would be nice for all these Frederick Noad lessons I'm going through.
