Crap tuners innit?! Actually, the CF Mountain guitars were Ok at the time, definite Martin "copies", and similar in price/quality to low-mid price Yamahas. Some even had solid tops - the ebay pics aren't helpful in guessing if this one might be. It is, though,a D18 knock-off (not D28 as seller has listed), if b/s are mahogany as stated, though prob laminate. I think the seller is correct is saying that Martin did sue, some time in the ?1980s. A bargain at half the price..... Keith

Sorry Keith but you're not on! The seller quite clearly states that this guitar sounds as good and is of a similar quality to a Martin D-28. I choose to believe this...

Lynn's gonna get yer, Lynn's gonna get yer ..... Either that or there be a "C.F. Mountain&Co" sticker on the headstock of a certain mandolin

Why don't we, collectively, buy the thing and do a blindfold listening test at Halifax........?
Keith
(that was not a serious suggestion btw)

Its a bit blatant isn't it lol . That's why the Sigmas came about during that law suit era when all the big guns were getting ripped off left right and center with far eastern copies which at the time were pants . Mines a copy a rip off even but at least I've got the knowledge that is a good copy that Martin signed off on . I may however rub Sigma off the headstock and remove the internal label as I'd much prefer the Mountain script ;-)

How about a Trailer, for those folk who want a modern take on the steel string flat top? Or even a Gitsome L-100, for playing the blues on the cheap? I want to work with the promo people who came up with the 'Mountain' label.

Those Givson guitars are pretty scary.
There is a company in China selling CF Martin guitars, D28s, D45s, etc. Martin can't stop them because China won't recognize international trade marks and the guy making the guitars registered the C F Martin name in China. I'll post a link to the guitars when I get off work.
