And so it begins... As posted before, I've asked Rory to build me a couple of guitars. I had planned to have one made of Brazilian Rosewood and the other of Cocobolo (with a view to the Coco being built/set up for standard tuning and the other for DADGAD, etc.). However, after having the double- sided TB in Malaysian Blackwood for a week and having longs talks with Rory we decided to go for MBW instead of BRW. The MBW made such an impression on me! We also decided to have both made with double-sides. So, here they are - or will be... I'll keep you posted, as it were.

Yes! Just click on the IMG link on Photobucket and it copies automatically. Then right-click and select Paste in a forum post and it should display.

Looking forward to seeing these take shape over the next few months, alig. But I want you to know that I am not in any way insanely jealous, oh no ... not me. Much.

I'll be watching this one too, particularly interested in the double sides which is a new concept to me.

I'll be watching this one too, particularly interested in the double sides which is a new concept to me. Hi, It was new to me until recently. Rory sent me the MBW TB, which is mentioned in the review (I think) section, for me to try (fingerboard dimensions, etc). I was amazed by the guitar. Deep, rich and resonant with plenty of overtones. I liked it so much I decided to have both of my guitars made with double sides - and to go for MBW instead of BR. The thinking is that double sides do some of the structural work of the top/back and allow more and cleaner vibrations. Rory's by no means the first or only maker to utilise this method and I assume he'll offer it as an optional extra. When mine are built I'll try and post some recordings. All the best.
