Martin's almost as good at selling Taran's as he is at buying them and I imagine if he did sell the ABW one, he'd commission or buy another in quick time...

Martin I've gone through so many periods of playing not playing and so on ive sold more guitars that I've seriously regretted than anything else including my fishing kit . Now I've not fished for about 2 yrs now as its too expensive these days but Ive kept my kit as I know I will eventually get the urge again . Music's the same I've never been very good at it and sometimes it gets me down and I'll not pick them up for months but now I've got the comfort that when I need them they are there . I had a play yesterday and today but only for 10 minuets or so as the kids take up so much of my time and I long for the day when I can sit with my feet up and play a song or two . I'd urge you to keep faith and your gear as once its gone its lost forever . PS you've probably heard this a thousand times so feel free to tell me to sod off .

Even though it's not getting the attention it deserves right now, yes I would no doubt regret selling the guitar just now, and would probably have to get another, meaning a long wait and big costs.... of course if anyone wants an accordion or banjo...

I'm not even thinking about this...
Hasn't even crossed my mind.
Lovely guitar though...
Got two, what's the difference with three....
Are you, by any chance, a bit scunnered, Martin?

I started the thread around two months ago, and I was a bit disillusioned (scunnered) then. Not so much now, though

I've gone through phases in the past of selling things off for various reasons but I've only really regretted the stuff I've sold because I needed the money - most of the time it's been because I used the money to upgrade to a better instrument.
I did clear out a load of electric effects pedals a year or so back, some of which I'd still quite like to have for the odd time I do plug in, but they went towards buying the Fylde so no regrets there really.
I've come to the opinion that I would rather have less high-quality stuff than more mid-range stuff so, at the moment I have my Fylde Alexander, Martin OM28v, 1931 Martin 5-17t, and a CS Fender Telecaster - a collection that's taken me six years of trading, selling and saving to get to - I don't think I'll be selling any of these as I wouldn't be in a position financially to buy back an equivalent quality instrument if I changed my mind in the future.
However that's not to say that if I completely fell for something which was significantly better than something I already have, that I wouldn't sell it to fund the move up...

Time to plant some seed...Don't listen to them, it's not true that "....once its gone its lost forever." What you need is a trial separation. Sell it to me, and then you can buy it back this time next year (or in 6 months, or maybe 3...)*. That way you'll get to enjoy another NGD - I'm only thinking of your happiness *Offer applies to owners of other guitars I'd like to try Sits back and allows seed to germinate...
