Thank you, gentlemen  Very exciting! It's due with me on Wednesday, so another update will follow, but until then, here are the last few piccies, courtesy of davewhite:  Here’s the truss rod adjuster and a green baize backed piece of English Walnut to put under the tailpiece when changing strings.  I made and added another compartment to the top of the case.  Here it is open.  Here’s the finished CBM in its case. |

This is a fine piece of wood. Quite nice to look a piece of wood just for it's aesthetic reasons only (opposed to a functional reason eg for the back and sides). English Walnut really is a beautiful tonewood; up there with the best tropical rainforest woods for visual appearances to my eyes. Beautiful OM as well! |

Only two more sleeps... But will someone be in when it gets delivered? Will they leave it with a neighbour? Are you having it delivered to work or throwing a sicky? It's a beautiful looking instrument - I can only assume it will play and sound beautifully too (Dave's Polka gives a lovely flavour!). Looking forward to some soundclips once you've familiarised yourself with it. |
