(WARNING: may contain traces of banjos and ukuleles) Not a review as such, but just reporting that I visited this excellent store on Wednesday and they were happy for me to take lots of photos of the displays for your indulgence. As I mentioned in another thread, the only instruments I played were the two Lewis octave mandolas and mighty fine they were too. The top end of the acoustics is mainly represented by Martins and Guilds, with a good selection of both. I especially liked the look of the all mahogany Martin 00016. A great variety of mandolins. When I've been in the past they're had a couple of Fylde Touchstones but they're out of stock. I would like to have tried the Loars and the Breedlove Crossover. What lovely wallsfull! You obviously had a pleasant time.  Pity you didn't buy the octave mandolin - maybe you should phone them...? I got my Fylde Walnut Touchstone over the phone from them a few years ago - v helpful they were too, esp on the price, and enede up with a free case too. Thanks for taking time out of your second honeymoon with F25 to post these! Ukepics coming up....? Keith |
