I just clip mine on at an angle Andy P. Easier on some headstock shapes than others, but it doesn't seem to present a problem. It would be nice if it swivelled though - no doubt that'll be the new improved version in due course, so we all have to shell out again...

Just to drag this up again, I've been re-reading everyone's comments about what a great device this is. There are reviews similarly singing its praises. The fact remains that if you have the guitar round your neck (my personal default position!) and clip the tuner to the headstock it's very difficult to read the display, surely a fundamental requirement. Am I missing something here? If you know something I don't, please enlighten me! Err... don't want to sound daft and also don't want to imply that you are daft so please forgive me if I does read like that but...... have you got the tuner body at right angles to the headstock and the clamp turned slightly on the headstock to the angle that you can see it like this? I also clip mine underneath the headstock.

I don't have a problem with the positioning and seeing the display, but I do have my guitar quite high when playing and the headstock higher.
However, what's driving me round the bend is that there seems to be a discrepancy between the single string mode and 6 string mode. So I get each single string exactly in tune, and then strum and it shows all sorts of ups and downs. I've tried going back to single string afterwards and it shows in tune then. Not that it matters, because by then I've got it in tune to my ear. It's just my OCD kicking in, I think.

Phil Well this is embarrassing. I'm not just daft Phil, I'm as thick as the world's shortest short plank. Thanks to that handy illustration I now realise that it tilts!!! Right, I'm off to dig a very deep hole in the garden and jump in it, having first negotiated my way around Mrs breedlover, who is rolling around on the floor in hysterics. Thanks for your patience

I find this to be pretty consistent and accurate!

Have you tried just one gentle sweep across the strings rather than strumming? Yes. That's what I meant. My loose terminology, I fear.

I've got one too and love it. Just like scorpiodog the only thing I've noticed is that the low E in "polytune" mode and in single string mode behaves slightly differently. Tune it to pitch in single string mode, and then check all six strings in polytune mode and the low E shows slightly flat. Tune it to be right in polytune mode and it shows slightly sharp in single string mode. I noticed this when I was trying it out in the shop, so tried another one to make sure it wasn't a dud and that did exactly the same, so I assume it's just a slight glitch. And it sometimes gets a bit confused about whether to display polytune or single string mode. But very minor gripes, a great tuner and well worth the money, I think.

Hope I'm not teaching my grandmother to suck eggs but I've got one of these and find that both modes agree if you tune the single string to the right part of the decay if you see what I mean. When first plucked, the string is not playing exactly the same pitch as when it decays a little. Mess about like that and the two modes seem to come together - more or less.

Not me. I use mine every day and the battery has lasted since last July.
The Polytune advert cites a battery life of up to 18 hours. I can only guess that yours isn't turning off properly. It seems like a potential warranty claim.

One thing to watch. When the batteries go, they go very suddenly. Always carry a spare!
