Oh sorry! Not much to report, except, that imagine my surprise when I went in to the finishing room to see this lovely arch top guitar hanging there. I was very interested because Brook do not usually make archtops. Then I saw the lovely headstock and Francis' logo and recognised it as the guitar in this thread. Very beautiful looking. Can't wait to hear what it sounds like. Brook will do a lovely job with the finish, you can be sure of that. I guess it's just a week or so away from being finished, what do you think Francis? Sorry I didn't take any pictures I went down to have a strap button fitted to my bass, and to drop my Tavy in to be sold on their website. Two other guitars caught my eye- firstly a nylon strung torridge. Very beautiful, easy playing, lovely tone. And then perhaps one of the highlights of Brooks entire building history- a custom tamar for a French client which had probably every modern innovation going- fan fret, sound port, arm bevel. Master grade alpine spruce top, highly figured ziricote back and sides, beautiful rosette. Didn't play it much as I haven't played guitar for a couple of months, and have very short nails at the mo, but even so, I could tell that this would be a dream guitar for anyone who plays in alternate tuning. So yes, really looking forward to how Francis' arch top turns out. Keep us posted! Robbie

That looks simply gorgeous - tick v g Francis. (Not a criticism, but a personal preference - I'd like the truss rod cover to be more like the darker wood of the fingerplate, fingerboard and headstock.) Looking forward to hearing this! Keith

Apart from the previously mentioned thing that I simply don't like...this guitar is a startling impressive piece of work. I'd be proud to simply play it, let alone have the ability to build something of this quality. A tip of the hat in your direction Francis... superb thread.

I got to pick up this guitar and strum a few chords on it when I picked up my triple 000. It is even more gorgeous in real life than in the pics.
A brilliant job Francis.
